Steampunk Mermaid Base Tail by SINicallyTwisted Steampunk Mermaid Base Tail by SINicallyTwisted
This is what my tail looked like without any of the details added at all. Nothing inside the fins either. That was made separately and inserted later.

Aww thank you! I'm glad you like it! *ahem* I only have a 'slight' obsession with mermaids. *innocent look* :flirty:

I find that very cool! I just a a smidge of an obsession with satyrs, myself.

I meant to ask - where on earth did you find that fabric for your tail? It suits you swimmingly! I've been wanting to do a mermaid tail for a few years, but I've had a heard time finding a suitable swimsuit material that didn't look too flat or too gaudy...

JoAnn Fabrics and it's actually not swimsuit material. It's Microsuede. This tail is pretty much just for show or display only since the people I was there with wanted some "eye candy" for their event.

Get outta here! That was suede? It was very well tailored then! Suede is not all that forgiving as far as stretch if concerned...
You ought to consider making a full step-by-step tutorial as a resource for costumers. Your work is perfectly exemplar!

Yup, suede. These are the ones that I used.

Ohhh gosh I really don't think I'm that good at sewing. I'm used to hand sewing mostly but I am trying to utilize my sewing machine more even though that thing tends to intimidate me at times.
